Yesterday marked a monumental step forward for Lift PH Up Organization, Inc. as we officially signed a series of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with the respected leaders and elders of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community in Paluan, Occidental Mindoro.
A Commitment to Partnership
True community work is a journey of shared understanding. Yesterday’s formal signing was not just about finalizing documents; it was about honoring the deep commitment of both Lift PH Up and the IP leadership of Paluan to work side-by-side.
Did everything go 100% smoothly? As with any meaningful cross-cultural dialogue and logistical operation, we navigated a few minor hurdles and valuable feedback along the way. But these small “kinks” are invaluable parts of the partnership story—reminding us that collaboration is about continuous learning, listening, and refinement.
Ultimately, the goal remains the same: a unified dedication to ensuring dignity, equity, literacy, food security, and sustainable, place-based empowerment for the community of Paluan.
Words of Wisdom for the Future
The highlight of the ceremony was witnessing the profound support from the community’s leadership. When the final agreement was reached, it was a moment overflowing with mutual respect and a shared vision for generations to come.
What’s Next?
With the formal agreements officially signed, our work in Paluan moves from preparation to action. We are energized to begin rolling out our community-led initiatives in close collaboration with the local IP leadership, ensuring every program honors their unique heritage while opening new doors of opportunity.
To the elders, leaders, and the entire people of Paluan: Maraming Salamat po for welcoming Lift PH Up into your community and into your hearts.
